Pursuit

"A ferocity swept my stallion's eyes as I firmly gripped two braids in his loosely flowing mane. Leaving behind the small home, I was burdened now with a plea that I knew I must fulfill! I held this promise not only in the couple, but in my own heart and faith, as well. My steed seemed compelled by that promise, for as the intensity of my emotions grew, so did his mighty gallop grow in speed. The force of the wind urged me to bend forward against it, grasping my veil and pulling it free into the current of the air; I ignored it. My hair wavered freely now, a black flame bursting above the rattling dark war banner that was my cape. They billowed in harmony with my steed's white mane, and my dear and loyal companion Tigresa had well kept her pace, moving swiftly ahead of the horse as though to race it.

"I barely paid heed to my surroundings, which from the corner of my eye were little more than a blur. Absorbed in emotion now, no state of conscious mind weighted me; diligence I had no longer.
