I saw you leaving church, today...
You seem to think you know the way.
But explain some of these things you say
and do on all of these other days?

Do you see this problem that you raise?

I've seen these promises you bring...
But do you hear the words you sing?
Your faith is dangling by a string!
What's left is but a fragile thing:

I'll ask again:  Who is your King?

In gain you find your victory:
You've made yourself too blind to see!
What you say and do and know are three
distinguished things; Hypocrisy!
Stop living like a Pharisee,
and prove that you are truly free.

Does it phase you not to see them weep?
You could give, but you'd rather keep
what you don't need!  How do you sleep?

...Know that pride is not for sheep, and what you sow is what you reap.

But you are not lost: not yet!
Selfishness isn't worth the bet --

Though the ears this falls on may be deaf,
I'll say this with my dying breath:
. . .The consequence of sin . . .

Is Death.

Die to yourself.  You know the rest,
and you know the Book that says it best.
Things on my heart. Nothing special.

It was tempting to mark this "mature content" ... Simply because it is.

Matthew 7:21-24 has really been weighing on my heart lately for some of my friends..I've been praying about it.. How mind-blowingly crushing it will be for the people who think they know the Lord (and really don't) to hear Him say "I never knew you, depart from me."
